What Parents Want. The staff at Berg Furniture knows that parents want to provide the best furnishings for their children and create an environment with space and style that will grow with them from infancy to toddler and on to his or her teen years.
The office, factory and warehouse facilities, located in NJ, have been family owned and operated since 1984 and began with a customer base in the New York Metropolitan area. Our practical and highly functional styles that easily fit into any lifestyle and offer a unique color and material selection, soon made Berg furniture the talk of the retail world. Consumers quickly embraced our concepts and continual investments were made to increase production capacity to better serve specialty stores.
The Berg Showplace Facility at High Point, North Carolina led the way to distribution all across the United States in 1997. Today they meet customer needs with a wide variety of space saving products and materials, including wood and painted furniture. The Berg goal remains the same as it did in 1984 - to design and manufacture furniture with the greatest flexibility while offering the most moderately priced investment to their quality retailers and their customers. Comments about Berg Furniture Sierra Full Captain's Bed w/ Drawers, Cabinet & Stairs:
This bed is great. It's exactly what we were looking for for our son. However, the assembly instructions are horrible. My husband and his brother did much better after discarding the instructions as there wasn't much there to assist us with assembling our particular model of bed. I would feel more comfortable if there was a little more holding it together "underneath," rather than relying on the upper frame to hold it all together. However, it seems sturdy now that it's all together.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery look an awfully long time. Seemed a little ridiculous to ship to VA from NJ via the midwest. The delivery guys were great. Placed the boxes exactly where I asked them to. Everything was in good condition.
While customer service was available, I wouldn't say it was overly helpful. The person I spoke to originally to place the order was great while I was placing the order. I had two questions she couldn't answer (how high the assembled bed was, and how much it would cost to have it assembled after delivery). She assured me she would email me with the answers later that same afternoon. I never heard from her. I was able to find the height answer on my own on another company's website. As for assembly, it sure would've been a lot easier to pay someone to assemble the bed as your instructions are horrible. But since no one ever got back to me, we did it ourselves. The night we were going to start putting the bed together, we couldn't even figure out where to start. We are educated, fix-it minded people. We have renovated most of our house on our own. So it's not like we shouldn't be able to do this. As it was a weekend, we couldn't really contact customer service. I sent an email asking a few specific questions and asking for further instructions. I got a response back that said everything we needed to put the bed together was included in the instructions we received with the bed. Less than helpful. I called that Monday morning and spoke to the person who had sent me the email response. She answered my questions, but seemed pretty annoyed that I was calling. We were able to get the bed together the following weekend; however, it definitely was no thanks to the instructions or the customer service.
