This was product was painted and decorate for a fundraising project by a class of second graders. The rough surfaces had to be sanded down first before painted. Once painted, no blemishes could be seen. Glass was broken in the photo frame upon delivery so a new piece of glass had to be purchased. However, once the project was completed, the toy box looked great and is very user friendly.
