This dollhouse/bookcase is absolutely adorable. It was fairly easy to assemble, with clear directions. It is very sturdy, and the colors are vivid. My only criticism would be that the shelves cannot accomodate taller books, which must stand on end. I will definitely be purchasing more products by KidKraft in the future.

Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt, and the product arrived in good condition. When we assembled the product, we noticed a slight bubble in the paint on the flip top, and immediately called customer service. The representative was so helpful, and, as the bookcase was to be a gift, sent us a replacement right away, with no problem.

It compliments the previously owned KidKraft dollhouse. The shelves do not have enough height to place tall books upright. But otherwise, it's perfect.

I think it is a very good product for 3-7 years old girls. It looks pretty. My daughter loves it.
It can be used either as a bookcase or a doll-house but if you try to combine the two then I think it is a little small. It does not have the appeal of a complete, stand-alone doll house.
Overall, I will recommend this product to anyone trying to buy a nice looking bookshelf.

It is pretty
well painted and finished.

It doesn't have some nuts, so I have some trouble to assemble it at the last stage and I had to buy some unpainted nuts in hardware shop, but it looks like dents.

I got this for my daughter's books. It has plenty of room for them as well as some toys; the shelves are deep enough and tall enough for the books. (She only has one really big book that doesn't fit, and I just lay it flat under the roof part.) I like that there is extra storage on the top, and the door at the bottom adds a nice touch. I thought this was reasonably priced compared to other dollhouse bookcases I researched. I was able to put it together by myself with only one problem (hence the 4*). The instructions had the baseboard being installed as the last step; and there was no way I could get that in with the wooden pegs sticking out from 3 of 4 sides. You need to put it on before installing the second side of the house. I should have caught it, but I wasn't paying attention. I thought that I had missed a step, but it was on the instructions as the last step. I could have taken it all apart and put it on there, but it works fine without it, so I wasn't too concerned. It's not flimsy or anything, and I can move it around easily if I am rearranging her room. We've had it for 4 months now, and I'm extremely pleased with it.

This book case looks great and goes well in my daughters room. The directions for putting the piece together were not clear and resulted in 3 or 4 constructions before we got it right. When we finally did, we were very pleased.

My 4 year old twin daughters love to put dolls and trinkets on the shelves, the shelf with a door, and inside the lift-up roof. For me, it's practical and attractive.

We bought this for our toddler, and we wanted a bookcase to store her many books but to also be stylish. This is a really pretty decorating piece for a little girl's room and it does double duty as a dollhouse. The construction is sturdy enough and just the right size for our now 2-year-old to get her books and toys from it. We would buy it again if we were looking for the same criteria in a bookcase.
If you are looking for something practical to just hold your child's books, I personally would look for something else, though. The "rooms" in this bookcase sort of can be a nuisance if you are wanting to be practical because it makes it a little more challenging to get all the books in quickly, to store them by title, etc. But if how the book case looks is as important as storing the books to you, I think this is worth considering. It can also be a dollhouse when you want to graduate to a bigger bookcase.
