My husband and I have been pleased to find that this mattress pad does really cool a "hot" mattress. While it does eventually warm somewhat, shifting over a little and it's refreshingly cool. We're using it on a deep mattress with a latex pillowtop and haven't had any problems with keeping it in place. Haven't washed it yet, so don't know how it will hold up. But we were considering selling our 2-year old mattress, because we couldn't handle the heat and because of this mattress pad I don't think we need to.

We have a Cal-King water bed, which retains its warmth. My wife suffers from hot flashes. Once we started using the pad, her hot flashes have been reduced significantly. It's also very comfortable.
