As children often prefer to be in the same room as grown-ups, the creators of RoomMate, Christine Schwarzer and Anne Birgitte Balle, wanted their products to be able to function alongside the rest of the furniture. They set out to design products for children, while also making sure the designs also functioned as funny and charming design inputs to the grown-up environment.
